"Their singing is first-rate and sure to score with country buyers." The release of the Chet Atkins-produced pairing of Davis and Wagoner in 1962 was applauded by Billboard magazine, as the hoary old hit maker Porter Wagoner (‘A Satisfied Mind’ circa 1955) met up with half of the Davis Sisters following the death of BJ (Betty Jack) in 1956. By the early 60s Skeeter was forging a career in her own right and this album of covers (including a great take on 'Have I Told You Lately That I Love You' that would be lovingly covered by Van Morrison years later) ensured her upward trajectory while Wagoner quipped on the sleeve that “recording with you is one way to get played on Ralph Emery’s show,” Emery being Skeeter’s husband and number one fan.
